Over at Think Progress, Bryce Covert did a few calculations about what the estimated $24 billion cost of the government shutdown could have bought America. How about the Department of Agriculture’s entire budget? Or nearly all of Head Start, the Children’s Health Insurance Program and the Women, Infants and Children nutrition program?
