USPS–Staples Privatization Scheme ‘Bad Deal’ for Consumers, Workers

On Saturday, the Postal Workers (APWU) members take their fight against the U.S. Postal Service’s latest privatization scheme to Elmwood Park, Ill., where, with union and community allies, they will demonstrate outside a Staples store. The USPS began contracting out postal services to Staples in October through “postal” counters in the stores staffed with low-wage Staples employees.
