Union Sportsmen Help Restore Bolsa Chica Ecological Preserve

May 9, 2014

Last weekend, the Union Sportsmen's Alliance Work Boots on the Ground project brought together more than 100 volunteers to help restore the wildlife and recreational coastal wetlands at the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve in Huntington Beach, Calif. The crews included skilled union trade workers, adults and youth from the community. They worked on a one-mile stretch of the trail, pulling invasive weeds, repairing wood and metal fencing and removing graffiti. Bolsa Chica contains more than 500 acres of wildlife habitat and is vital for ducks and migratory birds.
