Today is Memorial Day. Flowers are at peak bloom, the laughter of children welcoming summer can be heard from front porches throughout America and families are gathering for barbecues and fellowship. But today, we also pause and remember. Today, we take part in a collective funeral procession to the heart of our nation to pay our respects. Today, we honor those men and women who have drawn their last breaths on sandy beaches, city streets, ancient fields and in far away places, all in the service to our country.
