Technicians at Delaware Amazon Center Set for Union Vote

Some 30 equipment and repair technicians at an Amazon.com warehouse in Middletown, Del., will vote on joining the Machinists (IAM) in a National Labor Relations Board election set for Jan. 15. Even though the election will cover just a handful of the center’s 1,500 employees, Amazon has hired “a labor law firm that’s battled with unions in the past,” reports the Seattle Times. Amazon has a long history of fighting workers’ attempts to join a union, dating back to a 2000 drive by workers at an Amazon call center in Seattle
