Bringing Holiday Joy to Struggling Military Families

January 20, 2015
North America's Building Trades Unions, in conjunction with C.H.O.I.C.E. and Helmets to Hardhats, coordinated the "adoption" of 58 military families for Christmas gift sponsorship.  These were families who today find themselves in various stages of distress.

On Friday, December 19th, those families joined our family - as well as Washington, DC Mayor Vincent Gray - for a reception, celebration and gift distribution.  Each child of the 58 families submitted his or her "Christmas wish list," and an army of volunteers and sponsors made sure that every whish was granted.

It was a joyous and emotional celebration that left many of the families, as well as the sponsors and volunteers, with Christmas tears of joy.

It was truly a remarkable day, and an example of the true essence of the season of giving.
