Agreement Reached for PLA on Long Island Railroad projects

Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), Long Island Rail Road (LIRR), and the Nassau and Suffolk Counties Building and Construction Trades Council recently reached a deal to utilize a Project Labor Agreement (PLA) in order to reduce the LIRR's labor costs on seven major construction projects by nearly 11 percent, saving the railroad an estimated $6.5 million over the course of the next five years.
